Contractual Terms 2026

This Tutoring Contract ("Contract") is entered into on this day of signing between City Law Tutors and the named Tutor.

1. Purpose of the Contract

1.1 The purpose of this Contract is to outline the terms and conditions under which the Law Tutor will provide tutoring services to clients referred by City Law Tutors.

2. Services Provided

The Tutor agrees to provide the following services:

2.1 Subject(s) to be tutored are the tutors’ specified subjects and courses in Law.

2.2 Grade level(s) or age group(s) will be university students and postgraduate adult learners.

2.3 Format of tutoring to be held online.

2.4 Duration of each session will be in 1-hour blocks.

2.5 Frequency of sessions will be as agreed with the students.

3. Compensation

3.1 The Agency agrees to pay the Tutor at the agreed rate of teaching per hour/session.

3.2 Payment will be made on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, depending on the brief.

3.3 Block booking will be payable at the end of each teaching block.

4. Schedule and Availability

4.1 The Tutor agrees to be available for tutoring sessions at the following times agreed with the student.

4.2 Any changes to the schedule must be communicated to the Agency and the client at least 24 hours in advance.

5. Responsibilities of the Tutor

5.1 Provide high-quality tutoring services tailored to the needs of the client.

5.2 Maintain a professional demeanour at all times.

5.3 Keep accurate records of sessions, including topics covered and progress made.

5.4 Communicate regularly with City Law Tutors regarding the client's progress and any issues that arise.

6. Responsibilities of City Law Tutors

6.1 Provide the Tutor with the necessary information about the client, including academic needs and goals.

6.2 Handle all client inquiries, scheduling, and billing.

6.3 Support the Tutor with resources and materials as needed.

7. Confidentiality

7.1 The Tutor agrees to maintain the confidentiality of all client information and not to disclose any personal or academic details to third parties without the client's or City Law Tutors’ consent.

8. Non-Solicitation

8.1 The tutor is not permitted to make private arrangements for tuition with a Tutor introduced by City Law Tutors. Should a tutor breach this obligation, they will be liable to account to City Law Tutors for all sums paid to the Tutor without deduction, and City Law Tutors shall be entitled to obtain an injunction against a Client to prevent further breaches. This obligation shall continue notwithstanding termination of this agreement.

9. Conflicts of interest

9.1 Before a Contract or Transaction involving a Conflict of Interest, a Tutor having a Conflict of Interest shall disclose all facts material to the Conflict of Interest. (This basically means that if you are in a conflict of interest, you declare it to us. A conflict of interest is a situation in which the concerns or aims of two different parties clash, i.e. you have been asked to teach the same student with another organisation or tutoring company.

10. Termination

10.1 Either party may terminate this Contract with 7 days' written notice.

10,2 City Law Tutors reserves the right to terminate the Contract immediately if the Tutor fails to meet the agreed-upon standards or breaches any terms of this Contract.

11. Independent Contractor Status

11.1 The Tutor is an independent contractor and not an employee of City Law Tutors. As such, the Tutor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and other legal obligations.

12. Governing Law

12.1 This Contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the England and Wales.

13. Entire Agreement

13.1 This Contract constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior agreements, understandings, or representations.

14. Amendments

14.1 Any amendments or modifications to this Contract must be made in writing and signed by both parties.
